# §52.32. Sanctions following findings of SIP inadequacy.


For purposes of the SIP revisions required by [§ 51.120](/cfr/40/51.120.md), EPA may make a finding under [section 179(a)](/cfr/40/179.md?p=a) (1)-(4) of the Clean Air Act, [42 U.S.C. 7509(a)](/usc/42/7509.md?p=a) (1)-(4), starting the sanctions process set forth in [section 179(a)](/cfr/40/179.md?p=a) of the Clean Air Act. Any such finding will be deemed a finding under [§ 52.31(c)](/cfr/40/52.31.md?p=c) and sanctions will be imposed in accordance with the order of sanctions and the terms for such sanctions established in [§ 52.31](/cfr/40/52.31.md).
