# §420.137. Effluent limitations guidelines representing the degree of effluent reduction attainable by the application of the best control technology for conventional pollutants (BCT).


Except as provided in [40 CFR 125.30 through 125.32](/cfr/40/125.30..125.32.md), any existing point source subject to this subpart must achieve the following effluent limitations representing the degree of effluent reduction attainable by the application of the best control technology for conventional pollutants (BCT): The limitations shall be the same as those specified for conventional pollutants (which are defined in [40 CFR 401.16](/cfr/40/401.16.md)) in [§ 420.132](/cfr/40/420.132.md) for the best practicable control technology currently available (BPT).
