# §35.680. Purpose.

- (a) **Purpose of section.** [Sections 35.680 through 35.688](/cfr/40/35.680..35.688.md) govern underground water source protection grants to Tribes and Intertribal Consortia under [section 1443(b)](/cfr/40/1443.md?p=b) of the Safe Drinking Water Act.
- (b) **Purpose of program.** The Underground Water Source Protection grants are awarded to carry out underground water source protection programs.
- (c) **Associated program regulations.** Associated program regulations are found in 40 CFR parts [124](/cfr/40/part124.md), [144](/cfr/40/part144.md), 145, 146, and 147.
