# §312.25. Searches for recorded environmental cleanup liens.

- (a) All appropriate inquiries must include a search for the existence of environmental cleanup liens against the subject property that are filed or recorded under federal, tribal, state, or local law.
- (b) All information collected regarding the existence of such environmental cleanup liens associated with the subject property by persons to whom this part is applicable per [§ 312.1(b)](/cfr/40/312.1.md?p=b) and not by an environmental professional, may be provided to the environmental professional or retained by the applicable party.
