# §262.216. Non-laboratory hazardous waste generated at an eligible academic entity.


An eligible academic entity that generates hazardous waste outside of a laboratory is not eligible to manage that hazardous waste under this subpart; and

- (a) Remains subject to the generator requirements of §§ [262.11](/cfr/40/262.11.md) and [262.15](/cfr/40/262.15.md) for large quantity generators and small quantity generators (if the hazardous waste is managed in a satellite accumulation area), and all other applicable generator requirements of [40 CFR part 262](/cfr/40/part262.md), with respect to that hazardous waste; or
- (b) Remains subject to the conditional exemption of [§ 262.14](/cfr/40/262.14.md) for very small quantity generators, with respect to that hazardous waste.
