# §262.202. This subpart is optional.

- (a) **Large quantity generators and small quantity generators.** Eligible academic entities have the option of complying with this subpart with respect to its laboratories, as an alternative to complying with the requirements of §§ [262.11](/cfr/40/262.11.md) and [262.15](/cfr/40/262.15.md).
- (b) **Very small quantity generators.** Eligible academic entities have the option of complying with this subpart with respect to laboratories, as an alternative to complying with the conditional exemption of [§ 262.14](/cfr/40/262.14.md).
