# §262.201. Applicability of this subpart.

- (a) **Large quantity generators and small quantity generators.** This subpart provides alternative requirements to the requirements in §§ [262.11](/cfr/40/262.11.md) and [262.15](/cfr/40/262.15.md) for the hazardous waste determination and accumulation of hazardous waste in laboratories owned by eligible academic entities that choose to be subject to this subpart, provided that they complete the notification requirements of [§ 262.203](/cfr/40/262.203.md).
- (b) **Very small quantity generators.** This subpart provides alternative requirements to the conditional exemption in [§ 262.14](/cfr/40/262.14.md) for the accumulation of hazardous waste in laboratories owned by eligible academic entities that choose to be subject to this subpart, provided that they complete the notification requirements of [§ 262.203](/cfr/40/262.203.md).
