# §160.17. Effects of non-compliance.

- (a) EPA may refuse to consider reliable for purposes of supporting an application for a research or marketing permit any data from a study which was not conducted in accordance with this part.
- (b) Submission of a statement required by [§ 160.12](/cfr/40/160.12.md) which is false may form the basis for cancellation, suspension, or modification of the research or marketing permit, or denial or disapproval of an application for such a permit, under FIFRA section [3](/cfr/40/3.md), [5](/cfr/40/5.md), [6](/cfr/40/6.md), [18](/cfr/40/18.md), or [24](/cfr/40/24.md) or FFDCA section [406](/cfr/40/406.md) or [409](/cfr/40/409.md), or for criminal prosecution under 18 U.S.C. [2](/usc/18/2.md) or [1001](/usc/18/1001.md) or FIFRA [section 14](/cfr/40/14.md), or for imposition of civil penalties under FIFRA [section 14](/cfr/40/14.md).
