# §148.11. Waste specific prohibitions—dioxin-containing wastes.

- (a) Effective August 8, 1988, the dioxin-containing wastes specified in [§ 261.31](/cfr/40/261.31.md) as EPA Hazardous Waste Nos. F020, F021, F022, F023, F026, F027, and F028, and prohibited from underground injection.
- (b) **The requirements of paragraph (a) of this section do not apply—**
  - (1) If the wastes meet or are treated to meet the applicable standards specified in [subpart D of part 268](/cfr/40/part268-subpartD.md); or
  - (2) If an exemption from a prohibition has been granted in response to a petition under subpart C of this part; or
  - (3) During the period of extension of the applicable effective date, if an extension has been granted under [§ 148.4](/cfr/40/148.4.md) of this part.
