# §147.3005. Radioactive waste injection wells.


Notwithstanding §§ [144.24](/cfr/40/144.24.md) and [146.51(b)](/cfr/40/146.51.md?p=b) of this chapter, owners and operators of wells used to dispose of radioactive waste (as defined in [10 CFR part 20](/cfr/10/part20.md), appendix B, table II, but not including high level and transuranic waste and spent nuclear fuel covered by [40 CFR part 191](/cfr/40/part191.md)) shall comply with the permitting requirements pertaining to Class I wells in parts [124](/cfr/40/part124.md), [144](/cfr/40/part144.md) and 146 of this chapter, as modified and supplemented by this subpart.
