# §146.2. Law authorizing these regulations.


The Safe Drinking Water Act, [42 U.S.C. 300f](/usc/42/300f.md) et seq. authorizes these regulations and all other UIC program regulations referenced in [40 CFR part 144](/cfr/40/part144.md). Certain regulations relating to the injection of hazardous waste are also authorized by the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, [42 U.S.C. 6901](/usc/42/6901.md) et seq.
