# §48.510. What actions will the Federal Government take against a recipient determined to have violated this part?


If a recipient is determined to have violated this part, as described in [§ 48.500](/cfr/38/48.500.md) or [§ 48.505](/cfr/38/48.505.md), the Department of Veterans Affairs may take one or more of the following actions—

- (a) Suspension of payments under the award;
- (b) Suspension or termination of the award; and
- (c) Suspension or debarment of the recipient under 2 CFR parts [180](/cfr/2/part180.md) and [801](/cfr/2/part801.md), for a period not to exceed five years.
