# §10.17. Designation of beneficiary subsequent to cancellation of previous designation.


The designation of a beneficiary made subsequent to the cancellation of a previous designation of beneficiary, shall be considered as a change in beneficiary, and shall be subject to the approval of the Secretary and subject to the conditions and requirements respecting change in beneficiary as outlined in [§ 10.16](/cfr/38/10.16.md).
