# §1.435. The description.

- (a) The application must meet the requirements as to the content and form of the description set forth in PCT Rules [5](/cfr/37/5.md), [9](/cfr/37/9.md), [10](/cfr/37/10.md), and [11](/cfr/37/11.md) and sections [204](/cfr/37/204.md) and [208](/cfr/37/208.md) of the Administrative Instructions.
- (b) In international applications designating the United States the description must contain upon filing an indication of the best mode contemplated by the inventor for carrying out the claimed invention.
