# §291.2. Authorities.


The regulations in this part are promulgated pursuant to the Omnibus Public Lands Act, Title VI, subtitle D on Paleontological Resources Preservation, [16 U.S.C. 470aaa through 16](/usc/16/470aaa..16.md) U.S.C. 470aaa-11, which requires the Secretary to issue such regulations as are appropriate to carry out the Act.
