# §1270.1. Scope of part.


This part implements the provisions of the Presidential Records Act of 1978, as amended, [44 U.S.C. 2201-2209](/usc/44/2201-2209.md), and establishes requirements for preserving, protecting, disposing of, and providing access to all Presidential and Vice-Presidential records created during a Presidential or Vice Presidential term of office beginning on or after January 20, 1981.
