# §1250.14. Preservation of FOIA-related records.


Each NARA component preserves all correspondence pertaining to the requests that it receives under this part, as well as copies of all requested records, until [Title 44](/cfr/44.md) of the United States Code or NARA's General Records Schedule 4.2 authorizes disposition or destruction. Records will not be disposed of while they are the subject of a pending request, appeal, or lawsuit under the FOIA.
