# §1237.1. What is the applicability and scope of this part?


Agencies must manage audiovisual, cartographic, and related records in accordance with [parts 1220-1235](/cfr/36/part1220-1235.md). This part prescribes additional policies and procedures for managing audiovisual, cartographic, and related records to ensure adequate and proper documentation and authorized, timely, and appropriate disposition.
