# §1192.1. Purpose.


This part provides minimum guidelines and requirements for accessibility standards to be issued by the Department of Transportation in [49 CFR part 37](/cfr/49/part37.md) for transportation vehicles required to be accessible by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 ([42 U.S.C. 12101](/usc/42/12101.md) et seq).
