# §73.1. Cross-reference to employee ethical conduct standards and financial disclosure regulations.


Employees of the Department of Education are subject to the executive branch-wide Standards of Ethical Conduct at [5 CFR part 2635](/cfr/5/part2635.md) and to the Department of Education regulation at [5 CFR part 6301](/cfr/5/part6301.md) which supplements the executive branch-wide standards with a requirement for employees to obtain prior approval to participate in certain outside activities. In addition, employees are subject to the executive branch-wide financial disclosure regulations at [5 CFR part 2634](/cfr/5/part2634.md).
