# §300.642. Data reporting.

- (a) **Protection of personally identifiable data.** The data described in section 618(a) of the Act and in [§ 300.641](/cfr/34/300.641.md) must be publicly reported by each State in a manner that does not result in disclosure of data identifiable to individual children.
- (b) **Sampling.** The Secretary may permit States and the Secretary of the Interior to obtain data in section 618(a) of the Act through sampling.
