# §67.10-40. Sound signals authorized for use prior to January 1, 1973.


Any sound signal authorized for use by the Coast Guard and manufactured prior to January 1, 1973, is excepted from the requirements in this subpart, except §§ [67.10-1 (b)](/cfr/33/67.10-1.md?p=b) and [(c)](/cfr/33/67.10-1.md?p=c), [67.10-5](/cfr/33/67.10-5.md), and [67.10-10](/cfr/33/67.10-10.md), if the sound signal has a minimum sound pressure level as specified in Table A of [Subpart 67.10 of Title 33 of the Code of Federal Regulations](/cfr/33/subpart67.10.md) in effect on December 31, 1972, for the range required by [§ 67.20-10](/cfr/33/67.20-10.md), [§ 67.25-10](/cfr/33/67.25-10.md), or [§ 67.30-10](/cfr/33/67.30-10.md).
