# §167.500. In the approaches to Los Angeles-Long Beach Traffic Separation Scheme: General.


The Traffic Separation Scheme in the approaches to Los Angeles-Long Beach consists of three parts: a Precautionary Area, a Western Approach, and a Southern Approach. The specific areas in the approaches to Los Angeles-Long Beach are described in [§§ 167.501 through 167.503](/cfr/33/167.501..167.503.md). The geographic coordinates in [§§ 167.501 through 167.503](/cfr/33/167.501..167.503.md) are defined using North American Datum 1983 (NAD 83).
