# §211.1. Purpose.


This part prescribes procedures pursuant to section 358 of the Ike Skelton National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2011 to provide:

- (a) A formal review of projects for which applications are filed with the Secretary of Transportation under [49 U.S.C. 44718](/usc/49/44718.md), to determine if they pose an unacceptable risk to the national security of the United States.
- (b) An informal review of a renewable energy development or other energy project in advance of the filing of an application with the Secretary of Transportation under [49 U.S.C. 44718](/usc/49/44718.md).
