# §1660.1. Purpose.


This part establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for the release of official information in litigation and the presentation of witness testimony by Selective Service System (SSS) personnel pursuant to [5 U.S.C. 301](/usc/5/301.md) and the Supreme Court's decision in United States ex rel. Touhy v. Ragen, 340 U.S. 462 (1951).
