# §597.309. Foreign terrorist organization.


The term foreign terrorist organization means an organization designated or redesignated as a foreign terrorist organization, or with respect to which the Secretary of State has notified Congress of the intention to designate as a foreign terrorist organization, under [8 U.S.C. 1189(a)](/usc/8/1189.md?p=a).
