# §501.721. Hearings to be public.


All hearings, except hearings on applications for confidential treatment filed pursuant to [§ 501.725(b)](/cfr/31/501.725.md?p=b), shall be public unless otherwise ordered by the Administrative Law Judge or the Secretary's designee, as appropriate, on his or her own motion or the motion of a party.
