# §353.0. Applicability.

- (a) The regulations in this part govern definitive (paper) Series EE savings bonds that have not been converted to book-entry bonds through TreasuryDirect® and definitive Series HH savings bonds. These bonds bear issue dates of January 1, 1980, or thereafter.
- (b) The regulations in [31 CFR part 315](/cfr/31/part315.md) govern all other definitive United States Savings Bonds and Savings Notes.
- (c) The regulations in [31 CFR part 363](/cfr/31/part363.md) govern Series EE savings bonds that were originally issued as book-entry bonds in TreasuryDirect® and Series EE savings bonds that were converted to book-entry bonds through TreasuryDirect®.
