# §35.1. Purpose.


This part implements sections 602 and 603 of the Social Security Act, as added by section 9901 of the American Rescue Plan Act (Subtitle M of Title IX of Pub. L. 117-2) and amended by [section 102](/cfr/31/102.md) of Division LL of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023 (Pub. L. 117-328).
