# §29.203. Service of Process.


To affect Federal Benefit Payments—

- (a) Service must be made upon the Department at the address provided in appendix A to this subpart for—
  - (1) Legal process under [section 659](/usc/42/659.md) of title 42, United States Code, and [part 581 of Title 5, Code of Federal Regulations](/cfr/5/part581.md), or
  - (2) Any request for or notice of appointment of a custodian, guardian, or other fiduciary to receive Federal Benefit Payments as representative payees under [§ 29.106](/cfr/31/29.106.md);
- (b) All other process regarding Federal Benefit Payments (including requests for judicial review under [§ 29.406](/cfr/31/29.406.md)) must be served upon the United States in accordance with applicable law.
- (c) All other process regarding Federal Benefit Payments must be served upon the United States in accordance with applicable law.
