# §1010.500. General.


[Sections 1010.505 through 1010.540](/cfr/31/1010.505..1010.540.md) of this subpart E were issued pursuant to the requirements of [section 314](/cfr/31/314.md) of the USA PATRIOT Act. Each financial institution (as defined in 31 U.S.C. [5312(a)(2)](/usc/31/5312.md?p=a-2) or [(c)(1)](/usc/31/5312.md?p=c-1)) should refer to its chapter X part for any additional special information sharing procedures.
