# §735.3. Authority.


[Section 705](/cfr/30/705.md) of the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 ([30 U.S.C. 1201](/usc/30/1201.md)) authorizes the Secretary to make grants to States for developing, administering, and enforcing State regulatory programs.
