# §585.656. What must I do if I cease activities approved in my GAP before the end of my term?


You must notify BOEM any time you cease activities under your approved GAP without an approved suspension. If you cease activities for an indefinite period that exceeds 6 months, BOEM may cancel your lease or grant under [§ 585.422](/cfr/30/585.422.md), as applicable, and you must initiate the decommissioning process, as set forth in [30 CFR part 285](/cfr/30/part285.md), subpart I.
