# §44.20. Designation of administrative law judge.


Within 5 days after receipt of a referral of a request for hearing in a petition for modification proceeding, the Chief Administrative Law Judge shall designate an administrative law judge appointed under section 3105 of [Title 5](/cfr/5.md) of the United States Code to preside over the hearing.
