# §250.702. May I obtain departures from these requirements?


You may apply for a departure from these requirements as described in [§ 250.142](/cfr/30/250.142.md). Your request must include a justification showing why the departure is necessary. You must identify and discuss the departure you are requesting in your APD (see [§ 250.414(h)](/cfr/30/250.414.md?p=h)) or your APM.
