# §250.701. May I use alternate procedures or equipment during operations?


You may use alternate procedures or equipment during operations after receiving approval as described in [§ 250.141](/cfr/30/250.141.md). You must identify and discuss your proposed alternate procedures or equipment in your Application for Permit to Drill (APD) (Form BSEE-0123) (see [§ 250.414(h)](/cfr/30/250.414.md?p=h)) or your Application for Permit to Modify (APM) (Form BSEE-0124). Procedures for obtaining approval of alternate procedures or equipment are described in [§ 250.141](/cfr/30/250.141.md).
