# §14.20. Flame resistance.


Conveyor belts for use in underground coal mines must be flame-resistant and:

- (a) Tested in accordance with [§ 14.22](/cfr/30/14.22.md) of this part; or
- (b) Tested in accordance with an alternate test determined by MSHA to be equivalent under 30 CFR §§ [6.20](/cfr/30/6.20.md) and [14.4(e)](/cfr/30/14.4.md?p=e).
