# §570.32. Effect of this subpart.


This subpart concerns the employment of youth between 14 and 16 years of age in nonagricultural occupations; standards for the employment of minors in agricultural occupations are detailed in subpart [E](/cfr/29/subpartE.md)-[1](/cfr/29/subpart1.md). The employment (including suffering or permitting to work) by an employer of minors 14 and 15 years of age in occupations detailed in [§ 570.34](/cfr/29/570.34.md), for the periods and under the conditions specified in [§ 570.35](/cfr/29/570.35.md), shall not be deemed to be oppressive child labor within the meaning of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, as amended. Employment that is not specifically permitted is prohibited.
