# §1902.30. Purpose and scope.


This subpart contains procedures and criteria under which the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health (hereinafter referred to as the Assistant Secretary) under a delegation of authority from the Secretary of Labor (Secretary's Order 12-71, 36 FR 8754) will make his determination on whether to grant final approval to State plans in accordance with the provisions of [section 18(e)](/cfr/29/18.md?p=e) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 ([29 U.S.C. 667](/usc/29/667.md)) (hereinafter referred to as the Act).
