# §902.1. Purpose and authority.


The purpose of [Part 902](/cfr/28/part902.md) is to establish protocols and procedures for the adjudication of disputes by the Compact Council. The Compact Council is established pursuant to the National Crime Prevention and Privacy Compact (Compact), [Title 42](/cfr/42.md), U.S.C., Chapter 140, Subchapter II, [Section 14616](/cfr/28/14616.md).
