# §802.2. Purpose and scope.

- (a) The purpose of this subpart is to establish procedures for the release of records in the custody, possession or control of the Agency pursuant to the provisions of the FOIA as amended by the FOIA Improvement Act of 2016 (Pub. L. 114-185).
- (b) The Director of CSOSA has designated the General Counsel to be the Chief FOIA Officer as defined in [5 U.S.C. 552(j)](/usc/5/552.md?p=j).
- (c) The Chief FOIA Officer shall designate at least one FOIA Public Liaison as defined in 5 U.S.C [552(j)(2)(H)](/usc/5/552.md?p=j-2-H) and [552(l)](/usc/5/552.md?p=l) for assisting in reducing delays, increasing transparency, understanding the status of requests, and assisting in the resolution of disputes.
