# §20.2. Authority.


These regulations are issued pursuant to sections [501](/cfr/28/501.md) and [524(b)](/cfr/28/524.md?p=b) of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, as amended by the Crime Control Act of 1973, Public Law 93-83, 87 Stat. 197, [42 U.S.C. 3701](/usc/42/3701.md), et seq. (Act), [28 U.S.C. 534](/usc/28/534.md), Public Law 92-544, 86 Stat. 1115, and Public Law 117-159, 136 Stat. 1331.
