# §18.8. Recommended decision.


Within a reasonable time after the close of the record of the hearings conducted under [§ 18.6](/cfr/28/18.6.md), the hearing officer shall submit findings of fact, conclusions of law, and a recommended order to the responsible agency official, in writing. The hearing officer shall promptly make copies of these documents available to the parties.
