# §1.31. Denial of permit applications.


If, upon examination of any application for a basic permit, the appropriate TTB officer has reason to believe that the applicant is not entitled to such a permit, the appropriate TTB officer shall institute proceedings for the denial of the application in accordance with the procedure set forth in [part 71](/cfr/27/part71.md) of this chapter.
