# §169.301. When will a right-of-way document be effective?

- (a) A right-of-way document will be effective on the date we approve the right-of-way document, even if an appeal is filed under [part 2](/cfr/25/part2.md) of this chapter.
- (b) The right-of-way document may specify a date on which the grantee's obligations are triggered. Such date may be before or after the approval date under [paragraph (a)](#a) of this section.
