# §161.501. When will a permit modification be effective?


BIA approval of a transfer, assignment, or modification under a permit will be effective immediately, notwithstanding any appeal, which may be filed under [part 2 of this title](/cfr/25/part2.md). Copies of approved documents will be provided to the permittee and made available to the Navajo Nation upon request.
