# §11.1200. Definitions.


For purposes of this subpart:

Domestic violence means to inflict physical harm, bodily injury, or sexual assault, or the fear of imminent physical harm, bodily injury, or sexual assault on a family member.

Family member means any of the following:

- (1) A spouse;
- (2) A former spouse;
- (3) A person related by blood;
- (4) A person related by existing or prior marriage;
- (5) A person who resides or resided with the defendant;
- (6) A person with whom the defendant has a child in common; or
- (7) **A person with whom the defendant is or was in a dating or intimate relationship.** Parent means persons who have a child in common, regardless of whether they have been married or have lived together at any time.
