# §964.320. HUD Policy on training, employment, contracting and subcontracting of public housing residents.


In accordance with [Section 3](/cfr/24/3.md) of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 and the implementing regulations at [24 CFR part 75](/cfr/24/part75.md), PHAs, their contractors and subcontractors shall make best efforts, consistent with existing Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, to give low and very low-income persons the training and employment opportunities generated by [Section 3](/cfr/24/3.md) covered assistance (as this term is defined in [24 CFR 75.3](/cfr/24/75.3.md)) and to give [Section 3](/cfr/24/3.md) business concerns the contracting opportunities generated by [Section 3](/cfr/24/3.md) covered assistance.
