# §58.10. Basic environmental responsibility.


In accordance with the provisions of law cited in [§ 58.1(b)](/cfr/24/58.1.md?p=b), except as otherwise provided in [§ 58.4(c)](/cfr/24/58.4.md?p=c), the responsible entity must assume the environmental responsibilities for projects under programs cited in [§ 58.1(b)](/cfr/24/58.1.md?p=b). In doing so, the responsible entity must comply with the provisions of NEPA and the CEQ regulations contained in 40 CFR parts [1500](/cfr/40/part1500.md) through [1508](/cfr/40/part1508.md), including the requirements set forth in this part.
