# §51.2. Authority.


This part implements the Department's responsibilities under: The National Housing Act ([12 U.S.C. 1701](/usc/12/1701.md) et seq.); sec. 2 of the Housing Act of 1949 ([42 U.S.C. 1441](/usc/42/1441.md)); secs. [2](/cfr/24/2.md) and [7(d)](/cfr/24/7.md?p=d) of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Act (42 U.S.C. [3531](/usc/42/3531.md) and [3535(d)](/usc/42/3535.md?p=d)); the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 ([42 U.S.C. 4321](/usc/42/4321.md)); and the other statutes that are referred to in this part.
